New Zealand Wood Pigeon

I was very lucky that this New Zealand Wood Pigeon landed on a perch very close to me, while I was walking along one of the tracks at the Orokonui Ecosanctuary near Dunedin. The Maori name of this bird is Kereru and the Latin name Hemiphaga novaeseelandiae.
