Wave, Meet Rock

Description

Within the grandeur of the Australian South West coast line, micro-dramas constantly play out. Unimaginably powerful forces were required to form this amazing coastline. These forces continue to shape the coastline. For example, billions of times a day, a wave smashes into a rock. On a human time scale, it appears that the wave simply bounces off the rock. Yet, over longer time periods the rock slowly succumbs to the waves. I captured this photograph just as another wave attack is repelled by the rock.
